Using this doctor resulted in a CPS investigation against us for medical neglect. We took in our daughter for suspected seizures; she was choking and her arms were going out. It turned out she just had intense gastric reflux, but as part of the process, in order to rule out seizures, we requested an eeg. The eeg tech cut our child's head with the leads. Krisha Murthy, the doctor that couldn't be bothered to see her outside the emergency room, because we weren't yet his patient (if that tells you anything about his motives for being a doctor), finally comes in for a few seconds in the morning and says that she has neither West's syndrome nor any seizures. The camera is so grainy that you can't see much of anything. He struggles to load the data many times, ultimately telling me he has to stop the recording to get it to load, and that he otherwise can only see it at home. He stops the data at one point, and I suspect turns off the camera (because the little square with it is no longer visible). Nevertheless, we continue with the eeg for almost 48 hours. He repeatedly asks me what the "other" doctor thinks. He explains that it if it seizures, it shouldn't damage her brain. We are supposed to systematically review all the data together at 4pm on a Friday, but he arrives at 5pm supposedly having reviewed it himself (I don't even know if he looked at it). He claims there was a 1 second seizure...not at any of the times I pushed the record button, but "somewhere else", and that because of this 1 second seizure that he has 80% confidence is a seizure (but doesn't really know), he recommends phenobarbitol. I have no idea what that is and he clarifies that it's a barbiturate and that it has been used for 100 years with NO SIDE EFFECTS. The African American resident tries to interject something but he cuts her off like she's not even human, trying to keep everyone with his diagnosis. He admits it's a "presumptuous" diagnosis - by which I can only assume he meant precautionary; i.e, he's not sure, but will not let us get an MRI or go home unless we go against medical advice OR take his drugs right then. The only transfer we can do is to their sister hospital in Charleston, where both of the doctors are also Indian, and I'm sure he knows them personally. They absolutely refuse to write us a referral for UNC. We go home and then when UNC requests the data, suddenly CPS shows up at our door saying that we destroyed half of it. And that we are being investigated for medical neglect. Only an animal would call CPS on someone instead of admitting they turned off their own camera feed. Now we could lose our daughter over this unfounded allegation. Also we looked up barbiturates and found a 1982 ncbi study showing mental retardation associated with its use in infants - and also the epilepsy website is full of people who say it just knocks their kids out and they miss every milestone. It's absolutely criminal for this drug pusher to do this to people. We're not sure he's the one who called CPS but almost nobody else even knew about the seizures...so much so the other doctor completely left them off the request to insurance. Our pediatrician evaluated her and said she looks "excellent", but, now we NEED the 2nd neurologist to clear her just to be out of legal custody battles. Only a total animal would do this to someone who needed medical help. Make the drive to UNC. These people are medical criminals.
